Chinese Electronic Music and Sound Art

Not surpisingly, there is a lot of Chinese music out there beyond FM3’s Buddha Machine. For those interested in finding out more about the wide range of electronic music being made in China, Taiwan, Singapore, etc., there’s an excellent resource out in the cyberthere called Chinese New Ear. The site features artist and label profiles, podcasts, interviews, a blog, links, and mp3’s. My current favorites from their collection of downloads is a jittery, buzzing drone called Noise Radio by Yao Chunghan and Countless Count, an ear-raisingly dystopic piece by Rio Yehlin Lee.

Check it out at: Chinese New Ear
